1. Educational resource only
The Village After Birth is an educational and resource-navigation site. It is not a medical practice, mental health clinic, emergency service, pharmacy, nutrition practice, or health insurer. Content is general information and cannot evaluate your circumstances, diagnose a condition, prescribe treatment, determine medication or supplement safety, or replace care from a qualified professional.
2. No professional relationship or active counseling
Reading content, using an interactive guide, joining a list, submitting a professional expression of interest, or contacting the project does not create a clinician-patient, therapist-client, dietitian-client, attorney-client, employment, agency, or volunteer relationship. Counseling and clinical matching are not currently offered through this site.
3. Use your own clinician and judgment
Health information changes and may not apply to you. We aim to use reliable sources, but do not promise that every page is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for an individual situation. Contact your own licensed clinician for medical or mental health advice, especially about symptoms, medicines, supplements, breastfeeding, nutrition, exercise, or treatment decisions. Never delay urgent care because of this site.
4. Forms are not care requests
Support-update and professional-interest forms are not care requests. They are not reviewed as clinical messages and do not guarantee a response. Do not submit symptoms, diagnoses, crisis details, medical records, government identification, or information about a child. Professional applications must not contain patient information.
5. Third-party services
Links and phone numbers may connect you with independent organizations. We do not control their availability, eligibility rules, privacy practices, clinical decisions, or service quality. Inclusion is not an endorsement, guarantee, or referral for a particular person. Confirm important details directly with the organization or provider.
6. Automated listener and artificial intelligence
The Village Listener is a browser-based automated guided support tool. It follows prewritten paths and rules that may display supportive prompts or safety information. It is not a person, clinician, therapist, peer-support worker, crisis counselor, emergency service, or monitoring service. No person reads or responds to entries through the Listener. It does not assess or predict risk, diagnose, treat, make safety decisions, or contact emergency services. Its prompts may be incomplete, incorrect, or fail to appear. Do not rely on it to recognize a crisis or urgent medical condition, and do not enter names, addresses, medical records, diagnoses, or information about a child.
Some site content may be prepared with AI assistance. It is still general educational information and must not be treated as professional advice.
7. Responsible use
Do not misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, submit another person's private information without authority, impersonate a professional, interfere with services, or use project materials to offer unverified clinical care. We may restrict access to protect users and the project.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may change when site features, privacy practices, or applicable requirements change. Material updates will be dated on this page. Any future clinical service would require separate terms, consent, professional oversight, and jurisdiction-specific safeguards.
